Automated detection of trades that meet the entry filters: candidates to study, not execution orders. Finviro's term: “Trade Scanner”.
What this scanner is
The Trade Scanner (Trade Scanner) is an automated eye that checks market flow in real time against set filters: premium above a threshold, volume that breaks its habit, a statistical anomaly in activity. It shows what passed the sieve as it happens. Its job is to catch what no human eye watching thousands of tickers can see.
The philosophy of the sieve
The options market produces millions of trades a day. Without filters, watching it is deadly noise, and with overly strict filters you miss the prey. Tuning is a craft: thresholds based on each ticker's own habits (Z-Score), not one blunt number for everyone.
What our system catches specifically
Large trades by Premium, sharp jumps in relative volume, activity that is unusual against Open Interest, and the biggest new positioning of the session, with the context of each catch (direction, expiry, position relative to the spread) so it is read, not believed.
Hypothetical example
Midway through a quiet session, the scanner catches three consecutive call trades on one ticker totaling $4M and volume equal to a week of its normal trading. One scan card saves hours of staring at screens, and the investigation after that is your job.
Common mistake
Turning every catch into a trade: the scanner answers “where do I look?”, not “what do I do?”. Between the catch and the decision stand the questions of opening, closing, structure and context.
Why it is filtered and not traded raw
A list of twenty signals in one session means the filter is wide, not that opportunities are plentiful. Sensible use passes them through two gates: an environment that suits the pattern (trend strength or range) and a nearby structural level. That leaves three worth a look.
Where to see it on the platform
The Trade Scanner page shows catches live with their filters, and the most notable new positioning appears as a fixed item in the indicator bar.
The scanner shows relative volume and the market regime classification on the same row, so you can filter by eye.
