Candlestick Pattern Scanner

Four patterns detected by calculation, measured on 18,187 real candles across 60 symbols. Returns are measured 5 candles after each appearance, in the direction the pattern claims.

⚠ Half of what you read about candlesticks has never been measured. This is what our data says, not what the books say.

⚠ Spotting a pattern is not an entry signal. Check its success rate above before you give it any weight. Two of these four do not work at all. A symbol opens its card with its daily chart (for members), and the name opens the pattern's explanation.

Method: Each pattern is defined by an explicit math rule with no room for interpretation (engulfing: a body that engulfs the one before · hammer and shooting star: a shadow at least twice the body). We scan the full history, measure the candle close 5 after each occurrence, and count the return in the claimed direction, so a bearish pattern counts as a win when price falls. We publish no rate for a pattern seen fewer than 20 times. In the statistics, "hammer" and "shooting star" are shapes without context. In the latest-candle list we name the shape by the direction of the 5 sessions before it: a hammer after a rise is a hanging man, and a shooting star after a fall is an inverted hammer. ⚠ The sample covers 60 symbols over a single period. A result in a rising market may differ in other markets.
