The list of symbols the platform tracks. Sometimes mislabeled as the platform universe, the watch universe or the full pair universe; the platform's term is Coverage Universe.
What this universe is
The Coverage Universe (Coverage Universe) is the published list of assets the platform runs full quantitative analysis on: the major indices, the largest tech stocks, sector leaders and their ETFs. Its limits are deliberate. It does not claim to cover everything.
Why a limit is a virtue
Because the quality of gamma and flow calculations takes real contract liquidity. A stock with thin options gives fake walls from dozens of orphan contracts, noise dressed as analysis. So the universe includes what is liquid enough to produce numbers worth trusting and leaves out what falls short on purpose: a quality decision, not a coverage gap.
What it means for you in practice
A symbol inside the universe: every platform tool works on it at full depth (gamma, flows, levels, environment). A symbol outside it: the deep quantitative layers are missing, and the absence is announced, not silent. You see "outside coverage", not a zero that suggests the market has no data at all.
Hypothetical example
A researcher asks for a gamma analysis of a small stock whose options are nearly dead. The platform says it is outside the coverage universe instead of drawing walls from thirty open contracts. A wall computed from nothing is more dangerous than its absence, because it suggests precision that does not exist.
Common mistake
Judging a platform's quality by its symbol count: covering thousands of symbols with thin calculations is show. Reliable depth over a controlled set serves decisions better than a broad display that is half noise.
Why a limit is a virtue
Computing gamma and flows takes real contract liquidity. A symbol with thin options gives fake walls built from a handful of orphan contracts, noise dressed as analysis. So the universe is a quality decision, not a coverage gap, and the absence is announced, never filled with a zero.
Where to see it on the platform
Tool pages state their coverage, and a symbol outside it shows its status plainly in search and the scanners.
